The End
I'm sorry to say that Zodiac Mary is no more. The band had a good second run 15 years after breaking up but after some of the old problems started cropping up, it was best to finally put this to bed. For various reasons, four of the guys have splintered off to play covers, turning their backs on writing original music within the framework of the band. Founding member Angelo, always the odd-man out, has decided to continue on with his vision of creating original music with his new band The Swindle.

Done, Done and Done...
It's taken almost 17 years but Zodiac Mary is finally on the road to releasing its first full length CD. Hard at work for the last 6 months, tracking was finished on 2/12/2011 with the editing and mixing process about to begin within the next few weeks. ZM hopes to have their album ready for mastering by March 19th with a late spring release.
In the meantime, ZM has secured a spot at the Art Stock Tribute Show on May 7th at the Stone Pony. For a solid 15 minutes ZM will hammer out some raucous and gritty rock and roll. Oh, and there'll be other bands there, too.
Stay tuned...

ZM Album Almost Done
It's been awhile. Since no one has bothered to follow this blog there hasn't been any need for updates. That is, until now. Today Jay finished tracking his vocals and next week we finish up one more guitar tracking session and we're done tracking completely. We'll begin the mixing process later this month and have set a deadline of March 19th to have the whole album finished and ready for mastering.
In the meantime, we have two shows coming up. We have a tentative show at the Starland Ballroom opening for Thin Lizzy sometime in March, more details on that later. We have another show set for May 7th at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. It's a pretty big show with many acts playing abbreviated sets (5 songs) depending. More announcements on ZM's Facebook and Twitter pages as they come in.

It Didn't Come Easy...
Friday night was somewhat of a disaster. The guys had a great time hanging out but Adam couldn't get used to Jay's electronic Roland kit when recording the drum tracks for "Don't Come Easy" so they scratched it all. Jay will now be doing the drum tracks for the demo mainly because he knows the song and where to place all the accents. Adam's a trooper and took it all in stride.
Tuesday night Angelo will be laying down some very rough guitar and bass tracks so that Ozzie and John will be able to listen to it and learn it. It's a great tune that will once again see life as a part of the ever growing ZM set list. More to come...

It Don't Come Easy...
Angelo and Jay got together again at Abbey Load Studios to arrange a demo version of another old song Wet Rebecca song written by Angelo way back when. "Don't Come Easy" is a raucous rock tune that the band will soon be rehearsing and adding to their set. Adam will be by tomorrow to help flesh out the demo. THIS is a song to watch out for...
Somethin' Bout You
This is a demo version of "Somethin' Bout You." We opened with this song on December 3rd and it's a possible B-side for our upcoming album. This is an old Wet Rebecca song that Angelo had written along with Jeff Czaja and Jay many years ago but never really recorded. It's a bit slower than intended but for demoing purposes it works just fine. This was recorded at Abbey Load Studios and exclusively features Angelo on guitar and bass with Jay on drums and vocals.
