Welcome Aboard...

Welcome to the Zodiac Mary Blog. This blog will keep you abreast of all that is going on with the band since we reunited recently after 15 years. We recently got together for a one-off rehearsal with all our original members and decided to keep the whole thing going. Unfortunately, our old bass player, Rich Evans, cannot be a part of this ongoing project since he lives in Seattle, creating somewhat of a logistical headache for us in getting him set up with the files he'd need to add his bass parts. We do wish him well and much continued success with his Dicky Moe project among others he's involved with.  The guy is a true talent...

So what's been up with ZM?  Nothing, actually.  We broke up in 1995 and spent the ensuing years as married men, fathers and working stiffs.  What actually brought us back together was technology and the potential it created for us to finally get our songs recorded properly without spending boatloads of money.  Apart from that, music was always in the background but real-life is what took over.  Now that we're back together, the future is wide open.  We may do some gigs but writing, recording and just being creative will be the dominant thing.  We missed our chance back then but intend to grab the bull by the balls and do something this time even if it's just hanging out once a week and getting our songs ready for the world to hear, a bit at a time.  And if our wives don't mine.

The band has since embarked on a mission to record all our old songs (with a new tune or two thrown into the mix) and put out a CD. We're looking at releasing it sometime next year as a do-it-yourself project done at our leisure since we're all adult men with responsibilities and obligations to attend to. However, as a bunch of old men, we're having a blast making noise again and it shows in the songs.  Ever see those old assholes sitting around jamming in that Viagra commercial on TV?  That's us only with talent.  We've reworked and rewritten some of our older songs and have put the finishing touches on a new version of one of our more snappy and upbeat songs "Happy."  We're happy to be back together again doing the one thing that really allowed us to express ourselves.  Bully for us...
